When you click New Workflow in the Shopbell dashboard, you see a grid of cards — 204 of them. Each card is a pre-built voice agent template. Click one, and the Shopbell LLM generates a workflow customized for that industry in about 10 seconds. The template you pick is just the starting point. Every word in the generated workflow is editable.

The 13 template categories

Templates are grouped under 13 tabs at the top of the picker: Sales & Marketing (44), Engineering & Dev (39), Business & Ops (29), Healthcare (8), Finance & Legal (15), Customer Support (9), Data & Analytics (8), Content & Media (11), Security (12), Design & Creative (9), HR & Recruiting (5), Real Estate (6), Education (6).

Click any tab to filter. Scroll the grid. Each card shows a name, one-line description, long description, and tag chips at the bottom. The template is just a label — it sets the Agent's name, the activityDescription text, and the suggested callType (inbound or outbound). When clicked, those three strings go to the Majestic-Plus-System LLM which generates the actual nodes and prompts.

What the activityDescription field controls

Every template has an activityDescription — a paragraph of plain English describing what the agent should do. When you click a card, this string is sent to the LLM as the prompt to generate the workflow. This means a credit repair template and a dental template are not just renamed versions of each other — the LLM generates different nodes, different prompts, different call flows based on the activityDescription.

Templates that require compliance (like Credit Repair Specialist) bake the compliance guardrails directly into the activityDescription. The Credit Repair template's activityDescription includes: disclose AI identity and recording at open, confirm right party, never guarantee a credit score increase, never claim removal of accurate negative items, never discuss CPN schemes, never quote a fee or collect payment in-call, route interested callers to a secure portal for contract and disclosures, honor opt-out and human-transfer triggers immediately. The LLM builds these rules into the generated workflow's Agent prompts.

How to pick the right template

Pick the template whose name and long description match what you do. The closer the match, the less editing you'll need. If you are a credit repair practice, pick Credit Repair Specialist under the Finance & Legal tab. If you are a dental office, pick Dental Practice Receptionist under Healthcare. If you are a real estate brokerage, pick a template under Real Estate.

If multiple templates are close, pick the more specific one. A 'Plumber' template (if it exists under Business & Ops) is better than a generic 'Local Business Receptionist' because the LLM uses industry-specific language, common questions, and call flows.

If none match — which is rare given 204 templates — click 'Start from scratch' at the top of the picker. You'll get an empty workflow with just a Start Call node. Add Agent nodes, write the prompts, and configure paths yourself.

Editing after you click a template

The generated workflow is a starting point, not a finish line. Open the workflow, click the Start Call node, change the greeting to use your actual business name. Click each Agent node and edit the system prompt: add your hours, your services, your pricing, your rules for transferring calls. Delete nodes you do not need. Add Transfer nodes for escalation. Add End Call node for closing.

Most users spend 30-60 minutes editing the generated workflow to match their business. The result is custom enough that customers cannot tell it is a template they started from.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I generate a workflow without picking a template?

Yes. The top of the picker page has a 'Start from scratch' option. You get an empty workflow and add nodes manually. Most new users should pick the closest template instead — it saves 20-30 minutes of setup.

What if my industry is not in the list?

Use the closest match under the most relevant category, then edit the system prompts. The Credit Repair, Dental, Real Estate, HVAC, Plumber, Electrician, and Law Firm templates cover most local businesses. For highly specialized verticals, start from scratch.

Are templates compliance-reviewed?

Compliance-sensitive templates (Credit Repair) include all required regulatory guardrails baked into the activityDescription. But the generated workflow is still a starting point — review the agent prompts with your attorney before going live for any regulated industry (credit, legal, medical, financial).
